CETO’s first guests

The second weekend in September saw Ceto welcome her first guests aboard for a weekend cruise in the Solent area. Chartered by the Old Berkhamstedian Sailing Club there was a mix of sailing experience on board from sailing 10’s of years ago to recently qualified coastal skipper.

The weekend started out with rain and strong (ish) winds requiring a couple of reefs to be put in the main sail but the crew remained positive throughout and enjoyed getting their hands on the helm in some challenging conditions. An overnight stop was made at Haslar marina for a meal and a well-deserved ‘couple’ of beers.

The next days weather was very different, blue skies and wind speeds of around 8knts. This proved too tempting for the skipper and the large multipurpose sail was hoisted for some great downwind sailing. Once again all guest took turns at the helm on our way back to base.

Our thanks go to our guests who made this first charter so memorable and for the many complimentary comments made regarding Ceto.
