Despite having to slip lines at 04.30 (some were wondering if it was an early start or late evening) all on board were eager to get the race started. Our start time was 06.10 and we were able to watch the first yachts away at 05.30 as we prepared for our start. Then it was our turn, a fast reach to the needles (1 hour helped by a bacon sandwich each ) then on our way with the spinnaker hoisted. CETO behaved throughout with no dramas and we were making good time until the wind eased just the other side of Ryde sands and our speed dropped for a slower than expected last hour before crossing the finish line in a total time of 08:48:29. Motor on and back to base for a celebratory glass of champagne, a relax then a well deserved meal.
Thanks to all for making it such an enjoyable race, 10th in class out of 28 was a good effort!
